IAR represents Illinois REALTORS® as the "voice of real estate" in the Illinois General Assembly on issues that affect your profession, the real estate industry and the rights of private property owners. IAR advocates for a healthy business environment and the goal of decent housing and a suitable living environment for every family.
RPAC final numbers in. The Illinois REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) finished with contributions over $750,000 and 113 Major Donor contributors for IAR’s 2009 fiscal year, which ended June 30. It’s never too late, however, to contribute to RPAC’s ongoing efforts to ensure that the REALTOR® viewpoint is heard in all levels of government.
Concerns about the Home Valuation Code of Conduct. On May 1, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac adopted the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC), which applies to mortgages that will be owned or guaranteed by these two companies. The code imposes restrictions on real estate professionals, loan officers, and mortgage brokers in selecting the individual hired to conduct an appraisal. There are concerns that the new rule is causing confusion and delays or fallout in home transactions. Check out IAR's HVCC Resources Page.
