Any REALTOR® or member local association threatened with legal action, or served with a complaint, summons or other legal instrument, may seek assistance from the Legal Action Committee, if the issues of the matter may be of consequence to REALTORS®, local associations or the Illinois Association of REALTORS®.

The Illinois Association of REALTORS® Legal Action Committee administers the IAR Legal Action Program and Legal Action Fund.

• The Legal Action Committe may provide legal or financial assistance to local associations or to REALTORS® in the prosecution or defense of actions, proceedings or appeals which involve issues and principles of importance to IAR or REALTORS®, as set forth in the association’s policies.
• The Legal Action Committee may provide for the prosecution, defense of actions, proceedings or appeals, or for the intervention, or amicus curiae participation by IAR through its legal counsel in matters involving issues and principles of importance to IAR or REALTORS®, as set forth in the association’s policies.
