IAR issues monthly and quarterly housing market reports for the median price and number of homes sold (single-family and condominiums) by:

• Illinois
• Chicagoland PMSA (Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties) 

Data for other Illinois counties is reported quarterly.

Sales and price information is generated from a survey of Multiple Listing Service (MLS) sales reported by 35 participating Illinois REALTOR® local boards and associations.

The median is a typical market price where half the homes sold for more, half sold for less.
