Once you get your real estate sales or brokerage license, you can become a member of the REALTOR® organization--a three-way membership with a local association of REALTORS®, the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). When you become a member you can use the term REALTOR® in promoting yourself and your business. REALTORS® are distinguished from other licensed real estate salespersons by the strict code of ethics they follow.
